This is one of the best places to get breakfast in Kansas City and a Fox favorite. Located at 51st and Main, Eggtc is part of a trio of restaurants, the other two being Minksy’s and Il Centro, under the same ownership. The restaurant is open from 6:30 am to 2:30 pm daily serving both breakfast and lunch. On a busy breakfast days like Saturday and Sunday expect to wait a little, unless of course you make reservations. Did you know you can make reservations at a breakfast place? They definitely come in handy for large groups or extra busy days like when there is a 5k run or something.
The Fox cannot resist ordering pancakes at a breakfast and Eggtc definitely has some of the best particularly the chocolate chip ones or the more seasonal sweet potato pancakes. On the most recent outing to Eggtc, this past Memorial Day, the Fox tried the breakfast tacos which were excellent. A mixture of eggs, cheese, jalapenos, and peppers placed on soft, but slightly crispy tortillas. They were extremely flavorful and only a tad bit on the spicy side.
The service at Eggtc is great and they have been very good and handling large groups. The restaurant is also one of the few that serves local Parisi coffee as their house coffee. This provides a great cup of coffee to drink throughout your breakfast. They also serve various specialty coffee drinks and smoothies. Some other notable items are the Banana Nutella French Toast and the Eggs Benedict. One more thing to note. For about a dollar you can add a scoop of vanilla ice cream to your pancakes, french toast, or waffles. How awesome is that ?
